AnovaBot (formerly SuperstarAnova and ANOVAbot) is an IRC bot by User:AnalysisOfVariance written in C++. It was originally designed to locally perform one-way analysis of variance tests, then turned into a bot on this wiki's IRC channel, #esolanging. Its core (the ANOVA test runner) is older than esomark, however it only became an IRC bot after esomark went online.

Just like esomark and fungot, AnovaBot has a Markov text generator (specifically, a character n-gram model) set to produce a fixed amount of iterations whenever anyone pings it. There are also "styles" for the text generation, which currently are:

  • anova - things that AnovaBot itself has said in #esolanging
  • comet-iiww - things that User:AnalysisOfVariance has said in #esolanging
  • de67 - things that User:Dragoneater67 has said in #esolanging
  • esolanging - things that have been said in #esolanging
  • esolanging-logs - things that have been said in #esolanging, but including things other than just messages
  • esolanging-talk - a model trained on this wiki's talk pages
  • fungot-lite - things that fungot has said in Freenode #esoteric and Libera #esolangs.
  • pkmnq - things that User:PkmnQ has said in #esolanging
  • yayimheretoo - things that User:Yayimhere has said in #esolanging

AnovaBot also has commands, prefixed with ~. Additional commands can be defined with ~bf (brainfuck) or ~cl (constant string printer).

~anova performs a one-way ANOVA test on the user's buffer as a CSV. However, it takes a long time and produces questionable results, so you're better off using JASP or R or something else instead.
